About our founder
jose perez martinez .
Our founder, José Perez-Martinez, has over 26 years of experience in Mycology, Plant Pathology, and Research and Development, with a proven track record in developing and leading successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. He holds a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences and a Master’s in Botany with a specialization in Mycology and has authored and co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers on plant diseases and fungal taxonomy.
José has led large-scale IPM programs, including his role as Senior IPM Manager at a leading cannabis company, where he oversaw 200,000 square feet of cultivation in Florida and developed IPM guidelines for 19 cultivation sites across 13 states.
Beyond cannabis, José managed a 300-acre ornamental nursery with over 700 plant varieties, implementing IPM strategies that integrate approved pesticides, biological control agents, and best practices. He also served as Scientific Manager at the University of Florida’s TREC Plant Diagnostic Clinic, offering disease diagnostics and management recommendations to both commercial growers and homeowners.
